Season two of the engaging podcast “Regenerative Champions” shares the stories and voices on small farmers using sustainable farming methods to bring healthy food to our community. The podcast is the work of Ohio State University doctoral student Sherifat Alabi who has spent the last few years conducting interviews and focus groups around the state.  The stories share the struggles and victories of a diverse group of young farmers in urban and rural settings.

Season two of this podcast is based upon work supported by the Hall Hunger Initiative and  U.S. Department of Agriculture, under Regional Conservation Partnership Program Supplemental Agreement number 2794, “Financing Soil Organic Carbon Storage Performance in Ohio's Miami Valley,” in partnership with the one.two.five Benefit Corporation and dozens of farms and local organizations in southwest Ohio, including Glorified Dirt LLC.

HHI has sponsored her work because we know it takes more than seeds and soil to to start a farm. It takes inspiration and the stories collected by Sherifat gives authentic encouragement and motivation. Take a listen and learn about the folks building a more just and sustainable Miami Valley.

HHI is dedicated to strengthening nonprofits, businesses, community spaces, and individuals who are committed to promoting food security and access. Every year we invest time and small grants to support those helping to build a just and sustainable food system. Thanks to our donors, this year we are able to support five projects making an impact. We will profile each project in upcoming newsletters. If you would like to donate to help us expand this efforts or to learn more, contact Alex at Alex@hallhungerinitiative.org
